If you're in need of food for any reason at all and you live in Iowa, you are welcome to utilize our Community Food Pantry. We know coming to a food pantry can be overwhelming or intimidating, especially for first time visitors.

 

In our Pantry you will be gladly welcomed, interacted with in a respectful manner, and be treated with dignity. Our incredible volunteers feel privileged to assist you and are respectful of your right to privacy. Hunger hurts, but thanks to the generosity and partnership with many in our community, we are able to assist you to help address food insecurity in NE Iowa.

We OPEN AT 12:30 Monday, Wednesday, and Friday until 4:30 pm.

We OPEN AT 12:30 Tuesday and Thursday until 7:00 pm.

Our last appointment is 20 minutes before we close. 

 

We are located at 110 Railroad Street in Decorah.

We are an APPOINTMENT-BASED PANTRY. Making an appointment (Mon. - Fri.) allows us to best serve the largest number of neighbor/clients. However, if you do not yet have an appointment and are in need of food (Mon. - Fri., 12:30 to closing time) we have pre-packaged ("Generic") groceries we can assist you with as we get you registered into our appointment-based system. 

 

We are a GUIDELINE BASED PANTRY; we are able to assist as many families as we do because we follow PANTRY GUIDELINES. These are limits on the amount each person can take. We are a generous Pantry, but we have Guidelines to assist as many people as possible. 

 

YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE A LITTLE INFORMATION: name (first and last), birthdate, address, phone and email (if you have these) and the names and ages of people living with you. No other information is needed. If you'd prefer to call us during our business hours to get registered (signed up) without coming to the pantry, that is fine! Call 563-202-0872 - leave a message. Our Pantry prides itself in protecting the privacy of our client/neighbors.

Once you're registered (signed up) with us, you can MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO COME and utilize our Community Food Pantry. It's easy and straightforward!

Pantry may be CLOSED DURING CERTAIN INCLEMENT WEATHER conditions; we no longer close just because schools are closed. Please watch & listen for Pantry closings on local and regional media sites. We are also closed for some major holidays. Please see below for more information.
